Mechanical Foreman / Maintenance Engineer - Mining - Mpumalanga
Overview:
Our client in the mining industry is seeking a qualified Mechanical Foreman / Maintenance Engineer to manage and oversee mechanical maintenance at their mining operation in Mpumalanga. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical skills and proven experience managing maintenance teams in mining or heavy industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise maintenance and repair of mining equipment
Lead equipment installations and site operations
Implement preventative maintenance schedules (PPM)
Conduct equipment inspections and manage asset performance
Train teams on safe and efficient machinery operation
Ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards
Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
Manage spares inventory and maintenance records
Drive engineering and maintenance projects on-site
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 / Matric
Recognised mechanical or earthmoving trade qualification (advantageous)
Minimum 5 years' supervisory experience in mining or heavy industry maintenance
Strong technical knowledge of mining equipment and maintenance best practices
Proven ability to lead teams and drive performance
