Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications:

• National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree (BSc / B.Eng) in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
• Registered as a professional engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
• Registered member of the South African Institution of Mechanical Engineering (SAIMechE) advantageous.
• MDP Certificate is advantageous.
• Project Management Certificate advantageous
• Valid Driverxe2x80x99s License

Experience:

• Minimum 8 yearsxe2x80x99 experience legally appointed as Mechanical Engineer in an underground mine.
• Minimum 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in mines with a shaft hoisting system.
• Minimum 3 years project management experience.
• Minimum 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a 5G enables mining operation.
• Minimum 2 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in developing and reviewing COPxe2x80x99s.
• Experience working on a start-up/ Greenfields project advantageous.

Knowledge and Skills:

• English: Fully Proficient.
• Mandarin: Fully Proficient (Preferred).
• Computer Literate (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Additional Computer Software knowledge advantageous (MS Projects, SAP etc).
• In-depth understanding of the operational model of a 5G enabled mine.
• In-depth understanding of the Minerals Act in terms of Shaft operations.
• In-depth understanding of the MHSA Act in terms of TMM operations.
• Working knowledge of industry, company and host country standards, regulations and legislation pertinent to the role.
• Knowledge of the Mine Health and Safety Act.
• In-depth knowledge of engineering methodologies and tools.
• Knowledge of downtime analysis and good knowledge of problem-solving tools.
• Use, repair and maintain machines and tools.
• Project management.
• Mathematics, Physics, Engineering Science and Technology.
• Good planning and organizational skills and attention to detail.
