Summary
We are looking for a qualified Retail Refrigeration Mechanical Engineer to maintain and optimise refrigeration systems for retail clients, including supermarkets, convenience stores, and cold storage facilities across South Africa. You will lead technical maintenance, support service teams, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Description
- Design, maintain, and optimise retail refrigeration systems
- Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration breakdowns
- Conduct preventive maintenance and system performance checks
- Supervise and support refrigeration technicians on-site
- Ensure compliance with South African occupational health, safety, and refrigeration regulations
- Prepare technical reports, work specifications, and maintenance documentation
- Liaise with retail clients, suppliers, and project teams
- Assit with quotation process
Minimum Requirements
- BEng / BTech in Mechanical or Refrigeration Engineering
- Proven experience with commercial or retail refrigeration systems
- Knowledge of South African health & safety regulations (OHSA) and refrigeration standards
- Strong problem-solving and technical skills
- Excellent communication and team coordination skills
- Experience with supermarket or cold-chain refrigeration
- Project management or site supervision experience
- Familiarity with HVAC systems
