Mechanical Engineer (retail Refrigeration)
Job Description
Design, maintain, and optimise retail refrigeration systems
Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration breakdowns
Conduct preventive maintenance and system performance checks
Supervise and support refrigeration technicians on-site
Ensure compliance with South African occupational health, safety, and refrigeration regulations
Prepare technical reports, work specifications, and maintenance documentation
Liaise with retail clients, suppliers, and project teams
Assit with quotation process
Minimum Requirements
BEng / BTech in Mechanical or Refrigeration Engineering
Proven experience with commercial or retail refrigeration systems
Knowledge of South African health & safety regulations (OHSA) and refrigeration standards
Strong problem-solving and technical skills
Excellent communication and team coordination skills
Advantageous
Experience with supermarket or cold-chain refrigeration
Project management or site supervision experience
Familiarity with HVAC systems
Between 1 - 3 Years
