Mechanical Engineer (research, Design & Development)
Job Description
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Research and Design team, based in the Design Office. The role offers hands on exposure to engineering design, product development and applied research within a structured technical environment.
This position is suited to a recently qualified or mid level Mechanical Engineer who wants to develop strong design and product development capability while working alongside experienced engineers.
You will support senior engineers with CAD design, prototype development, testing and technical analysis, and collaborate with manufacturing and technical teams to ensure practical and efficient design outcomes.
Minimum Requirements
- BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 60 percent average in final year modules
- Interest in ECSA Candidate Engineer registration
- Working knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Inventor
- Strong mechanical fundamentals and problem solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and development of new and existing products
- Produce engineering drawings and models
- Support testing, research and feasibility studies
- Maintain design documentation and comply with safety and quality standards
