Mechanical Engineer

Job Description
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer who can operate in either a design-focused role or a project-focused role within a heavy industrial and mineral processing environment. The position involves mechanical design, equipment development, engineering analysis, project coordination and hands-on support across fabrication, assembly and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
Design Engineering
- Produce 3D models, detailed drawings and bills of materials
- Develop mechanical components, assemblies and complete equipment
- Conduct engineering calculations and ensure structural and mechanical integrity
- Support fabrication teams by resolving design queries and checking manufacturability
- Participate in design reviews, QA checks and client inspections
- Coordinate engineering activities from design through fabrication and delivery
- Manage project timelines, documentation and supplier interactions
- Support site measurements, installations, testing and commissioning
- Liaise with mechanical, electrical and process engineering teams
- Assist with technical reports, progress updates and client communication
- BEng Mechanical or Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)
- Experience in heavy machinery, mining equipment, fabrication or industrial plant engineering
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor
- Understanding of fabrication, machining and assembly processes
- Strong problem solving and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment
