Job Description
This role focuses on the design, development, and optimization of explosive delivery and initiation systems used in mining operations, ensuring performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for detonation and blasting applications.
- Collaborate with R&D and Field Engineers to test and validate new systems.
- Conduct failure analysis and recommend design improvements.
- Ensure compliance with mining, safety, and explosive handling regulations.
- Support the maintenance and optimization of current detonation technologies.
- Prepare detailed engineering documentation, technical reports, and risk assessments.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field); Master's preferred.
- Experience in explosive systems, detonation systems, or mining-related mechanical engineering.
- Knowledge of explosive materials, safety regulations, and mining operations.
- Experience with CAD tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Strong understanding of materials science, fluid dynamics, and structural integrity.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-risk environments.
