Job Description


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop mechanical systems and components that meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Utilize CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software and other engineering tools to create detailed drawings, models, and prototypes of mechanical designs, ensuring accuracy, functionality, and manufacturability.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and performance evaluations to validate design concepts and optimize product performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Generate technical documentation, including specifications, test plans, and design reports, to communicate design requirements and project status to stakeholders and team members.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to support prototype development, production ramp-up, and product launch activities.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in mechanical engineering, applying relevant knowledge and insights to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Collaborate with external partners, suppliers, and vendors to source components, materials, and services required for prototype development and manufacturing.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (X years) working as a Mechanical Design Engineer, with a strong background in conceptual design, modeling, and analysis.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo) and simulation tools, with the ability to create and analyze complex mechanical designs and assemblies.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, theories, and methodologies, including materials selection, stress analysis, and tolerance analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a track record of identifying and resolving technical challenges throughout the design and development process.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles preferred.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations governing mechanical design and product development processes.
