Job Description

There are opportunities for Mechanical Engineer (CFD Specialist) to join the Industry Advisory Group in the Johannesburg / Cape Town / Umhlanga offices of Royal HaskoningDHV in South Africa.

Duties and responsibilities

• Develop CFD simulations, transient studies (Flownex) and other specialist calculations.
• Utilize CFD analysis software to visualize and analyze problems concerning fluid flow, heat transfer, etc. in product designs and development.
• Work within project teams under the guidance of the Lead Engineer.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team across borders.
• In addition to participating in projects, contribute to the optimization of internal business processes and to safeguarding and sharing knowledge within the field.

Qualifications,Skills and Experience

• BEng/BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Masters degree / higher in Mechanical Engineering advantageous
• Professional / candidate registration with ECSA advantageous
• Minimum of 3 xe2x80x93 10+ years post graduate relevant, multi-disciplinary experience, preferably within a consulting engineering environment
• CFD expertise & experience are non-negotiable
• Proficiency in CFD software is required, i.e. AutoCAD Inventor, KeyCreator, ANSYS Fluent, STAR CCM+, MATLAB, Simulink, LTspice, Python, C++, PTC Mathcad Prime 3.1, SMath Studio, PLC Ladder Logic & Catman Easy or similar
• Demonstrable experience in the mechanical engineering field with an in-depth knowledge of CFD
• Extensive knowledge of local and international standards and codes
• Enthusiastic, go-getter attitude
• Accurate and meticulous with good organisational skills (plan and prioritise)
• Ability to meet multiple deadlines and handle pressure
