We are seeking an experienced

Mechanical Engineer

with a strong background in the

mining industry

and proven expertise in

Noise Control Management

. The ideal candidate will support our engineering, operations, and compliance teams by developing, implementing, and monitoring noise control strategies across mining and mineral processing environments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead mechanical engineering design, installation, optimisation, and maintenance of mining equipment and systems. Conduct noise assessments, modelling, and mapping across plant and mining operations. Develop and implement noise control plans in alignment with legal, health, and safety standards (e.g., MHSA, SANS). Recommend engineering and administrative controls to reduce occupational noise exposure. Support HSE teams with noise-related audits, risk assessments, and reporting. Contribute to plant upgrades, CAPEX projects, and reliability improvements. Prepare technical reports, specifications, and compliance documentation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, HSE, and project management. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSc / BEng).

10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in the mining or mineral processing industry.

Demonstrated experience in

Noise Control Management

, including noise measurement, analysis, and control techniques. Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation relevant to noise exposure. Proficiency in engineering design software and tools. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Registration with ECSA (Pr.Eng/Pr.Tech) will be an added advantage.

Desired Competencies

Strong understanding of plant equipment such as crushers, mills, fans, conveyors, and pumps. Familiarity with environmental and occupational noise regulations. Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams. High level of attention to detail and report-writing proficiency.

Pay: R800,00 - R1500,00 per hour
