Mechanical Engineer Manufacturing ~ Renewable Energy
Cape Town - Western Cape - South Africa

As a new and exciting venture, we want a dynamic individual who is motivated,

enthusiastic and reliable. In this role, you will assist the Engineering and Production team by contributing to research, design and development. The team works in one cohesive unit to improve the overall efficiency of our company and the quality of our product.

Mechanical Engineer Requirements:

• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Experience with technical drawings and schematics
• Design skills CAD (Inventor or any computer design software)
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent Computer skills (Experience with MS Office and Google Suite)
• Mathematical skills

Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities (not limited to but including):

• Identify and analyze problems within the product development/production cycle and construct a solution.
• Design or re-design systems, either mechanical or electrical, by making use of computer-aided design software.
• Investigate equipment failures or malfunctions and provide recommendations on alternative solutions.
• Develop and test prototypes of designed devices.
• Analyse test results, make action notes, and improve where applicable.
• Oversee the manufacturing process.
• Edit and maintain production documentation.
• Formulate documentation for equipment used in production for all applications. Documents may include, but is not limited to, how-to guides; standard operating procedures; and assembly processes.
• Create installation instruction manuals for products.
• Optimise plant efficiency taking into account the available resources.
• Identify project requirements and formulate a project scope.
• Assist the production team in constructing budgets, timescales and specifications regarding projects.
• Maintain and modify equipment to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation.
• Liaising with suppliers.
• Conduct relevant research and development.
• Review designs with managers and present to clients.
• Provide technical advice.
