Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description
This role requires a strong engineering foundation, exceptional analytical capability, and a passion for innovative mechanical design within a high-performance defence environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, model and analyse mechanical systems and components for military vehicles.
- Develop 3D CAD models, detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Conduct structural, thermal and dynamic analyses to ensure system integrity and reliability.
- Support prototype development, testing and validation of vehicle subsystems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, electronics, survivability and manufacturing.
- Ensure compliance with defence standards, safety regulations and quality requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and provide engineering justification for design decisions.
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, graduating with high academic distinction (e.g., first-class honours, distinction, or GPA equivalent).
- Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, and NX).
- Experience with FEA/CAE tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar) is highly desirable.
- Solid knowledge of materials engineering, structural analysis, vehicle dynamics and mechanical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a high-accuracy, safety-critical environment.
- Strong communication and technical documentation abilities.
