Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description
Job Summary Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for defence vehicle applications.
- Conduct 3D modelling, simulation, and analysis to ensure performance and structural integrity.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including electrical, manufacturing, and systems engineers.
- Produce detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and documentation for production and testing.
- Support prototype builds, validation, and design verification testing.
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
- BEng or BSc (Mechanical Engineering) degree.
- 3-5 years' experience in mechanical design within the defence, automotive, or heavy vehicle industries.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar).
- Experience with FEA, materials selection, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- South African citizenship due to defence project requirements.
