Job Description

• Eng.; BSc. Eng.; BTech.; NDip. in Mechanical or Mechatronics/Electro-Mechanical Engineering (Industrial engineering may be considered).
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience
• Keen attention to detail, ability to read, interpret and implement design code requirements from a design, testing and manufacturing standpoint.
• Ability to work in both a team environment and individually; under pressure; meet strict deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication in English is essential (Afrikaans will be an added advantage).
• Experience in 2D & 3D design (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidEdge) & MS Office required (Pastel experience advantageous)
• Experience in pressure vessel design will be advantageous.
• Experience in FEA & CFD will be advantageous.
• Experience in hydraulic & pneumatic testing will be advantageous.
• Experience in jigs & fixture design and fabrication will be advantageous.

Job responsibilities: * Design pressure equipment to the relevant design codes or standards, eg. EN 14025, EN 13445, ASME, SANS 1518 etc.

• Ensure compliance with PED/PER, AD 2000 and OHSA regulations.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 3834-2 quality management system standards.
• Complete assigned project tasks in line with set deadlines
• Record and report engineering activities and project progress.
• Provide solutions to production related technical problems or inefficiencies.
• Provide technical assistance to other departments where necessary, by firstly providing them with the tools to assist themselves if possible.
• Ensure production receives the necessary engineering assistance to stay up and running uninterrupted, e.g. design drawings, tooling requirements.
• Design tooling and equipment for manufacturing and testing of parts.
• Quality control and testing of manufactured parts.
• Writing operating, testing and maintenance procedures for manufactured parts
• Assist with client engineering requests, designs, calculations and technical enquiries.

• Working hours Mon - Thurs (07:20 xe2x80x93 16:25); Fridays (07:20 xe2x80x93 13:00) some over-time may be required to ensure deadlines are met.
