Equalizer AG is a leading manufacturer of planting and seeding equipment in South Africa. Equalizer is a subsidiary of the Lemken Group of Companies, one of the biggest and oldest German manufacturers of agricultural equipment in Europe. We design, manufacture and distribute world class planters and seeders throughout South Africa and the rest of the world.

We have a vacancy for an innovative mechanical design engineer. The primary responsibility of this individual will be the design of new agricultural equipment and/or the improvement of existing designs. Innovative thinking is of critical importance as well as a strong mechanical background. This person will be part of a bigger design team and therefore will need to be able to work well in a team environment.

Qualification, Skills & Experience

Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc/B.Eng - NQF8). Experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment. Good understanding of the casting process and the design of cast items. Farming background and or experience will be beneficial. Proficient in 3D Computer Aided Design (Solid Edge is advantageous). FEA simulation experience.

Duties & Responsibilities

New design of machinery, components and assemblies in 3D CAD. Improvement of existing products and designs. Creation of production information and other tasks relating to the design process. Perform calculation to validate designs. FEA analysis and validation on structural components. Design and development of castings as part of product responsibilities.
