Job Description
Key Output
- Assist the Boilermakers in their day-to-day activities in the Welding Bay.
- Assist in the assembly and disassembly of fabricated components.
- Know the use of tools, and which tools are used for which jobs and ensure the assembler has them within reach.
- Assisting with rigging operations and with housekeeping operations.
- Clean and maintain facilities and equipment.
- Assist artisan / operatives to obtain and check parts for jobs.
- Maintain a safe and orderly workplace.
- Grade12
- Relevant previous work experience advantageous.
- Physically lift, keep in place and / or move up to 20kg or use appropriate lifting and slinging equipment for objects larger in size.
- Ability to obtain certification as forklift operator within 90 days of appointment.
- Ability to obtain certification as overhead / jib crane operator within 90 days of appointment.
- Ability to follow instructions under supervision.
- Drivers licence - Code B will be an added advantage.
- Be able to work at heights and confined spaces.
- Be aware of safety rules and regulations in the work environment
