Imperium Commodity Search is exclusively retained by a global meat/proteins trading house, exporter and supplier, seeking growth in their African sales business across frozen foods/meat categories (poultry, pork, beef). With a global trading set up for their frozen foods and meats business, this is a role with a trader style profit/margin split over a base salary and suits a commercially focused individual with experience in selling food and meat commodities to clients/producers and processors in East/West African markets.
To succeed in this role, you will be energetic, inquisitive, active and curious. This is not an internal sales role, but one half of a trading position, and will suit an individual looking to transition to a commercially rewarded and dynamic trading desk.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Generate relationships with buyers of frozen meat products, building a profitable trading business in African markets for the sale of pork, poultry and beef frozen products
• Build and maintain relationships with wholesalers, restaurant business and food companies to ensure broad book of clients across the African meat sector
• Oversee sales metrics and PnL targets for the desk, ensuring a consistent and unwavering approach to commercial terms and growth
• Keep up to date with market news and movements in the frozen meat sector across the African markets
• Ensure up to date reporting of sales figures and targets in the frozen meat category
• Work with procurement/sourcing teams to respond to client requirements/orders across the frozen meat space
• Ensure fluidity of operations for delivery/supply chain of frozen meat business and keep seamless communications with the customer

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• 2 years experience in a foods/meats or frozen product sales in the African markets
• Good commercial acumen with the ability to drive business development across poultry, beef and pork categories
• Experience in handling logistics and operations for frozen products preferred
• Good understanding of the East or West African markets
• Fluent in English and French (written and verbal)
• Able to travel freely for client relationship management, based out of Cape Town, South Africa
