Material Handler
Job Description
Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage and/or processing locations.
Efficiently handle, stack, and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances to Production Supervisor.
Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number (bar-code) and type of product is handled, loaded, and shipped/transported. Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into trucks (rail or road).
Maintain the equipment, work area and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
Daily, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the equipment as the case may be before commencement of duty.
Perform a safety inspection, identify, note, and report all Class A & B hazards
Work/operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods/Standard Operating Procedures.
Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse/plant.
Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
Comply with OHSA and client standards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R28,79 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Education:
High School (matric) (Preferred)
