The Opportunity
We're looking for an Associate Marketing Director to join our team. This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced marketing professional who wants to contribute their skills to a global mission. You will support the Marketing Director in leading our marketing team, focusing on content strategy, fundraising enablement, events, and enhancing brand visibility, among other key areas.
What You'll Do
Support team management with clear, timely communication
Partner with HR to further build our team of volunteers, including marketing professionals, graphic designers, video production, and conference managers
Lead the development and execution of content marketing strategies aligned with fundraising and outreach goals
Write or guide strategic briefs and campaign plans
Create compelling copy for donor materials, web, email, and social platforms
Oversee content production planning and timelines, coordinating with internal stakeholders. Manage content calendar
Collaborate with our team to manage content via our WordPress CMS
Plan, manage, and support our team to maximize conference opportunities
Contribute to content for:
Brochures, one-pagers, and datasheets
Conference activations
Blog posts and donor-facing communications
Website and social media
Video content strategy and messaging (video production/editing not expected, but a nice-to-have)
What We're Looking For
Passion for social impact, global development, and clear, engaging communication
A background in supporting nonprofit organizations
Experience in sourcing, recruiting, and managing unpaid volunteers
Significant experience in content marketing, communications, or editorial roles
Ability to independently manage strategy and execution, integrating internal or external support when needed
Project management skills and a collaborative mindset
Preference for the candidate to be located in South Africa
Scope & Compensation
Initially, working a minimum of 15-20 hrs per week, with a compensation of 25,000 ZAR per month. We hope to double your hours and compensation after 4 months.
You will be an integral part of this team, helping ROCKBlue usher in a new era as the organization grows significantly in the 2nd half of 2025 and beyond.
