Position Details:
Job Title: Marketing Coordinator
Location: Centurion, South Africa
Salary: R30,000 per month
Employment Type: 12-month contract (with the possibility of extension or conversion to permanent employment)

Candidate Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in a similar marketing coordination or management role
Education: Relevant tertiary qualification (marketing, communications, business, etc.)
Skills:
Strong marketing instincts and strategic thinking
Excellent organisational and project management skills
Hands-on experience with social media content planning and execution
Ability to brief designers and oversee visual content
Strong writing skills for newsletters, social media, and press releases
Understanding of branding and audience engagement
Confident working independently and leading marketing direction
Preferred:
Background or experience in the dance or performing arts industry
Understanding of youth-focused events or competitions
Travel Requirement:
Must be willing and able to travel internationally at least once per year, typically for 2 weeks or longer, as part of the annual finals event
Role Summary:
This is a hands-on, strategic role for someone with strong marketing instincts and excellent organisational skills. You'll lead the full marketing function -- from campaign strategy and content creation to social media management, advertising, partnerships, and communication. You'll work closely with a graphic designer and other teams but will be fully responsible for all marketing direction, planning, and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy & Leadership
Develop and implement the overall marketing strategy, including major events and brand growth.
Lead the marketing team -- briefing the designer and other departments with clear direction.
Plan and schedule seasonal and campaign-specific marketing activities across all platforms.
Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all platforms and materials.
Analyse campaign performance and adapt strategies accordingly.
Social Media Direction
Plan and manage content across all platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
Write captions and schedule posts to maintain engagement.
Monitor trends and audience insights to optimise strategy.
Create reels, highlights, stories, and behind-the-scenes content.
Respond to comments and messages in a professional, on-brand tone.
Guide the tone, look, and storytelling of social presence.
Graphic Design Oversight
Provide clear briefs to the graphic designer for all visual assets.
Review designs and provide feedback to ensure consistency and high standards.
Keep materials current across print, digital, and merchandise channels.
Marketing & Promotion
Create and manage newsletters and promotional emails.
Write or coordinate press releases.
Maintain and update the website with key messages and event info.
Manage and implement digital ad campaigns.
Oversee all ad placements.
Sponsorship, Advertising & Partnerships
Sell ad space in event programmes and apps.
Engage local businesses for advertising and sponsorship.
Build partnerships with institutions for scholarships and placements.
Prepare sponsorship proposals and maintain communication.
Identify vendors and partners for events.
Event Marketing & Outreach
Execute marketing plans for major events.
Distribute brochures and engage global dance schools.
Coordinate with ambassadors and influencers.
Support media and press visibility at events.
Oversee live event content creation.
General Coordination & Admin
Maintain a marketing calendar and track deadlines.
Manage the marketing budget and report on ROI.
Collaborate with internal teams, sponsors, and partners.
Support merchandise promotion, both online and in-person.
