Job Description


The focus of this role is to ensure our existing marketing strategy and plan is achieved by supporting the Head of Marketing with the oversight, coordination, and implementation thereof. Our key marketing focus is to promote products and services, maintain and raise brand awareness through appropriate or relevant marketing channels and effectively communicate with our target market within the parameters of legislation.Liaise and network with a range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues, suppliers and partner organisations i.e. PR companyAdvertising (Print, Radio, TV, Billboards, advertorials, other)

  • Assist in researching and planning advertising campaigns, including;
  • Sourcing advertising opportunities and placing adverts in the press - local, regional, national and specialist publications and decide on suitable media - print, radio, billboards depending on the campaign; try and get a spread of quality advertising across regions, media platforms and target markets
  • Coordinate and inspect creative elements and layouts
  • Liaise with advertising agencies in terms of television advertising production when required and liaise with DSTV regarding up-coming cycling events
  • Filter proposals received from agencies and the team in line with strategy
  • Lever-off all advertising opportunities to maximise exposure
Marketing, media, and web presence
  • Manage social media pages (LinkedIn) and monitor competitor presence
  • Research, manage, implement and analyse Google Adwords and Analytics
Branding (Gifting, Banners, Signage, ad hoc)
  • Track stock that is used throughout the year
  • Track the movement of branding and ensure it is returned after events/functions/presentations
  • All branding in line with guidelines and ASISA codes.
Budgets
  • Assisting the gatekeeper of the budget by double checking the monthly budget items and ensure the marketing budget balances with finance each month.
  • Monitor on an ongoing basis and communicate weekly with the marketing administrator to ensure the budget is kept up to date with upcoming or cancelled items.
Communication
  • Where relevant, ensure communication is appropriately levered-off to maximise exposure. To achieve this, you would be in regular contact with the communication specialist.
General Marketing Material
  • Assist with the creation and updating of content for existing and new marketing material
  • Assist in the production of marketing materials, including fact sheets, brochures, leaflets, posters, flyers, newsletters
  • Liaise with designers and printers, when required
  • Upload the factsheets to the FSCA, monthly
Functions
  • Along with the marketing administrator, coordinate all details with team members and external parties
  • Liaise with the consultants and co-ordinate the end of year advisor personalized-touch points in each region.
  • Attend when necessary
Webinars
  • Test technology before the presentation goes live
  • Record the presentation using the appropriate format
  • Liaise with the external company to edit the recording as per requirements
  • Upload the recording to YouTube
PR
  • Guide PR agents in terms of what we want to achieve with respect to predetermined strategy and planning
  • Coordinate interview opportunities nationally
  • Filter opportunities sent to us by external parties
  • Proof reading articles/editorials written by investment team
  • Communicate and coordinate with PR agency with regards to PR opportunities and events taking place
  • Timeously communicate our PR strategy and article deadlines to the investment team and manage/encourage material production from their team
  • Meet with the PR agency quarterly to update them
Presentations
  • Assist with coordination of presentations
  • Check and manage the industry diary
  • Big picture overview - ensure that correct general coordination and arrangements are in place, review after each function areas for improvement/compare to competitors in this space
  • Assist team members in their roles and facilitate better planning and preparation where possible
  • Determine what marketing material is required and ensure there is stock
  • Invites - place diary reminders
Sponsorships
  • Lever-off our current sponsorship opportunities i.e. activations/ advisor and client entertainment
  • Filter and coordinate sponsorship requests
Website
  • Assist team with keeping website up to date and introduce general updates and improvements where necessary, including drafting online content
General and library
  • Assist in compiling quarterly marketing PowerPoint presentations
  • Ensure that the following tasks are covered within the marketing team:
  • Quality controls are performed in the team where necessary i.e. all communication, gifts.
  • Ensure library folder updated with relevant articles and comments, audio, print, radio and TV advertising, articles, posters, communication, sponsorship images etc. This is to ensure that we have a record of all these items that we can call on.
  • Ensure necessary checks are performed in the team to ensure accuracy i.e. double check spelling, grammar, etc.
  • Ensure where necessary that contracts are signed by the head of marketing and the external party and sent to the compliance team and saved in the Marketing folder
  • Monitoring and analysis advertising stats
  • Manage, upload and delete relevant material to the YouTube channel
  • Provide feedback for monthly and quarterly exco meetings.
Requirements/Competencies:
  • Minimum 2 - 3 years' experience working as a marketing manager in a medium sized business would be ideal
  • Marketing diploma/degree would be an advantage
  • Must have had exposure in all aspects within a marketing function i.e advertising, marketing, media, branding, budgets, PR
  • Must have excellent planning skills and be flexible
  • Must have strong organisational skills and bring structure to the team
  • Must have the ability to fit into and work with the team and the broader business
  • Must be a clear communicator
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint
