An exciting opportunity is available for a Marketing Assistant to join a dynamic team on a temporary 6-month contract, with the possibility of transitioning into a full-time role. This position blends social media management with broader marketing functions, contributing to a mission that celebrates Africa's wild places and connects with a global audience passionate about conservation and responsible travel.
Candidate Requirements:
Relevant education or experience in marketing, communications, media, or related fields
A solid grasp of social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Pinterest
Strong written English and attention to detail across all content formats
A keen visual sense for selecting and editing impactful imagery and video
Basic editing skills using tools like Canva, Adobe, or similar
Familiarity with SEO principles and digital content best practices
Experience with email marketing platforms and automation tools
Comfort with scheduling tools (e.g. Facebook Business Suite, Brandwatch) and project management platforms (e.g. Trello)
Excellent communication, creativity, and problem-solving abilities
Strong time management and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
A genuine interest in conservation, responsible travel, and Africa's natural heritage
Self-motivation, initiative, and a collaborative spirit
Candidate Responsibilities:
Scheduling and managing content across multiple social media platforms
Creating engaging posts, stories, and visual assets using branded templates and basic design tools
Sourcing and curating high-quality photos and video footage for campaigns
Editing imagery and short-form videos for marketing and social use
Monitoring and responding to comments, messages, and community interactions
Assisting with SEO through keyword research, on-page optimisation, and content creation
Writing copy for social media, newsletters, blogs, and marketing campaigns
Supporting email marketing efforts, including design, copywriting, scheduling, and reporting
Setting up and monitoring digital campaigns across social and other platforms
Analysing performance metrics and preparing reports to guide future strategy
Using marketing automation tools to enhance campaign delivery and audience engagement
Supporting content uploads and scheduling for YouTube, Pinterest, and LinkedIn
Collaborating with internal teams to ensure brand consistency and timely execution
