Division

One of the largest businesses within the Sanlam Group, Sanlam Corporate (SC) specialises in the provision of risk, investment and administration services to institutions and retirement funds. Focused on meeting the unique needs of its diverse clients, SC assists companies in creating and delivering customised employee benefits solutions, including the collection of premiums and communication to fund members.

The overall purpose of the role

If you are a creative thinker with a passion for marketing and a drive to achieve measurable results, we invite you to join our team as our Marketing and Engagement Lead. In this role you will assist the Marketing and Communications Manager with the execution of the Sanlam Corporate go-to Market Strategy, positioning Sanlam Corporate as an industry leader with holistic and integrated offerings underpinned by best-in class solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to drive B2B and B2C engagement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address business requirements
  • Partner with above-the-line and below the line agencies and service providers to translate strategy into practice.
  • Ensure timeous delivery of projects/campaigns aligned to the overall business/marketing objectives and appropriate allocation of budgets to ensure ROI for planned programmes.
  • Advise and provide recommendations on the development of marketing programs
  • Provide guidance on marketing best practice across the value chain
  • Recommend and positively influence changes to optimise processes, systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of Standards and Frameworks for ways of working.
  • Utilise web analytics to measure and optimise marketing campaigns
  • Build and maintain a strong brand presence across online and offline channels
Qualification and Experience
  • BSc/MSc degree in Marketing or related field.
  • 8-12 years relevant experience in marketing and communication, preferably within the financial services or agency environment
  • 3 - 4 years where ideally at senior specialist and/or leadership position of a business where duties involved executing impactful marketing strategies (brand value, brand love, bottom line) that heavily leverage digital channels, platforms and technologies in facilitating effective brand marketing programs and messages across diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of the Marketing landscape, operating model, capabilities, and technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of the Business and Financial Services landscape, product, and service offerings.
  • Experience working with CRM tools, particularly Microsoft Dynamics
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing content and managing communications on online platforms including approved business social media channels such as LinkedIn

  • Advanced ability to draw reports to support Marketing and Communications Manager in delivering presentations to senior leadership, executives, and regular stakeholders to facilitate appropriate strategy decision-making across the business
  • Ability to build relationships that allow for the managing of expectations; the sharing of knowledge and diverse insights; and the creation of buy-in.
  • Stay abreast of relevant industry risk management best practices and legislative amendments and suggests ways to leverage these to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Hands-on experience with web analytics tools
