Market Risk Officer
Job Description
Are you detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about financial markets? A prominent multinational bank is seeking a Market Risk Officer to join its Treasury team in Windhoek, Namibia. This is a critical role supporting the front office sales and trading function, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and effectiveness in the bank's investment and trading activities.
Key responsibilities:
Monitor and reconcile daily Treasury transactions and exposures for completeness and accuracy. Provide real-time P&L support, analyze variances, and ensure prompt resolution. Review and understand Treasury portfolios, identifying pricing anomalies and risk mismatches. Perform daily revaluations, update FX rates, and manage market data in trading systems. Collaborate with traders, operations, risk, and finance teams for seamless end-to-end processes. Assist in enhancing valuation models, pricing tools, and risk metrics.
Requirements to meet prior to applying:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, or related field.
- Professional risk certification (ACI/CFA Level 1) advantageous.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments, market risk, and pricing principles.
- Proficiency in Excel; experience with Treasury systems and data tools is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in Treasury, Middle Office, Risk, or Financial Control in a financial institution
