Market Risk Analyst (Financial Services)
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng, office based.
Preference will be given to previously disadvantaged groups due to BBBEE target requirements.
There is a strategic career enhancement opportunity available with a leading financial services group for a Market Risk Analyst.
Position Overview:
The main purpose of this position is to realise the responsibilities of the Risk Support Department which is housed in the organisation, in respect of the regulation and supervision of market risk, equity risk in the banking book, margin requirements and counterparty credit risk (risk types).
The Market Risk Analyst will monitor the relevant industry's exposure to the risk types and industry compliance with the regulations governing these risk types. The selected candidate will benchmark the institutions' risk management practices with respect to the risk types management best practice.
Further responsibilities will include developing analytical methods to analyse and interpret risk-based regulatory data submissions as well as developing internal policies and processes for supervising the risk types.
Essential Experience, Qualifications and Skills Required:

• A completed Postgraduate Degree (NQF 8) in Banking, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Finance, Mathematics or Statistics, or another relevant quantitatively focused Postgraduate Degree.
• Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree or another relevant Master's-level (or higher) management-related degree will be an added advantage.
• A minimum of 5-8 years of applicable experience in the Banking, Insurance or Financial Regulatory Sector in positions related to the Risk Types.
• Certifications in:

• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
• Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
• Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF) or another appropriate industry-recognised certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages, reporting software packages such as PowerBI and Tableau, and programming languages such as Python or R.
• Own transportation is essential as the position requires regular travelling outside of Pretoria.
