Job Description

As a

Manufacturing Engineering Manager,

with experience in the automotive industry, you will be responsible for planning, directing, supervising, leading and coordinating the activities and work of the Industrial Engineering and Maintenance Departments to achieve maximum financial benefit from the plant's capital expenditures, maintenance expenditures, production equipment and fixed assets.

Duties & Responsibilities



Lead and manage the Industrial Engineering and Maintenance Departments. Coordinate engineering projects related to process improvements, equipment upgrades, and new installations. Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability at the lowest cost. Manage the budgets for maintenance and engineering projects, including the procurement of equipment and spare parts. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and promote a culture of safety in all engineering activities. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) to improve plant efficiency, reduce product manufacturing costs and the environmental impact of operations. Drive technical innovation in the manufacturing space especially those related to safety, reliability and efficiency. Prepare technical reports, maintenance schedules, and performance metrics for senior management. Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering skills development and succession planning. Sustain or develop a network base with equipment vendors Develop a work environment within manufacturing that promotes trust, teamwork quality and safety. Assign accountability, build teams, hire, develop, evaluate, train, coach and discipline with corrective action as needed. To establish, update and maintain all manufacturing data files.

Qualifications & Competencies



Industrial Engineering or Mechanical engineering Degree/Diploma Minimum of 5 years appropriate post graduate experience. Good leadership skills with a proven track record of supervising a team. Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, equipment maintenance and process engineering Comprehensive knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methods. A six-sigma certification will be advantageous Knowledge of OH&S Act and ISO standards Experienced in managing Capital investment projects. Experienced in the development and control of expense budgets High degree of knowledge on all Microsoft Office products Good interpersonal and communication skills Must be assertive, proactive and tenacious with excellent problem-solving skills The ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse work environment
