Core Description

The Executive:

General Accounting & Shared Services is responsible for establishing, leading and optimising the centralised general accounting function within the finance team and serving as finance business partner to the shared services function. This role ensures the accurate, efficient and compliant delivery of core accounting operations such as AP, AR, "ownership" of the chart of accounts etc, while driving standardisation, automation and continuous improvement across all business units. This role has not previously existed in this construct within BCX and therefore the incumbent will need to leade the design, co-creation and implementation of the function. As the process owner for accounting activities, this position partners with FBP's, IT and business stakeholders to enhance the integrity of our GL, reduce costs and support scalable growth. Key Deliverables / Primary Functions

Finance Strategy Enablement

Translates business strategy into Finance strategy for the General Accounting capability and providing direction, tactics and support for the overall financial health of BCX, business value growth and return on investments.

Design and maintain accounting processes for subscription-based revenue recognition and deferred revenue management. Integrate real-time financial analytics into business decision-making (rolling forecasts, ARR/MRR tracking). Support dynamic forecasting aligned to XaaS growth models through the providing of accurate financial data management.

XaaS Transformation

Understand and evaluate the financial implications of shifting revenue streams from one-time sales to recurring subscriptions. This includes impact on cash flow, profitability, and customer lifetime value, as well as pricing models, contract terms, and revenue recognition practices. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align XaaS transformation efforts with overall business objectives and ensure that financial strategies support innovation, scalability, and customer success.

Financial General Accounting Leadership

Oversee end-to-end General Accounting operations and lead financial reporting processes, providing timely, accurate, and insightful reporting for internal and external stakeholders.

Budget Preparation & Advice, Forecast Preparation & Advice, Internal Financial Controls, Management of Tax Compliance & Statutory Reporting, Transaction Processing Services, incl Intercompany Transactions, Reconciliations and Financial Data Management, Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Manage audit preparation and ensure clean audit outcomes (internal and external).

Risk Management & Governance

Anticipate and identify risks that could impact BCX business performance. Develop response strategy and helps to manage these risks. Review governance structures and make sure they are optimised for delivering on BCX business strategy.

Embed strong financial controls, ensuring audit-readiness and SOX compliance (where applicable).

Strategic Business Partnership

Partner with Operational Finance, Finance and Business leadership teams to align financial management with business goals. Provide financial insights and modelling to support service innovation, pricing, and go-to-market strategies. Act as a trusted advisor on financial strategy, operational scalability, and investment decisions. 12 to 15 years' experience years of experience in charge of financial operation,

Deep understanding of financial management and governance

Experience with major ERP platforms (SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud ERP, or similar).

Experience in a large, complex IT Services organization is highly advantageous.

Incumbent must have proven business acumen with experience in C-suite stakeholder engagement. Certifications Financial institution registration (e.g. SAICA, SAPR) Professional Memberships in Relevant Industry Level of Engagement & Span of Control Span of Control 1-5 Level of Engagement Interact with similar levels, C-suite executives and various stakeholders, at all levels within and outside BCX
