E-Z-GO, has an exciting opportunity available for a Workshop manager at the Cape Town branch.
Position Overview
The Workshop & Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing all workshop operations, ensuring efficient scheduling of technicians and driver, accurate stock management, effective supplier relationships, and excellent customer service. This role plays a key part in maintaining high-quality and timely service and cart delivery.

Specific Role Responsibilities
Workshop Management
  • Ongoing high level communication with customers both written and telephonically.
  • Costing and sending out quotation to customers.
  • Plan and allocate the daily schedule for workshop technicians.
  • Monitor workflow and turnaround times on services, repairs, and refurbishments.
  • Review and capture service reports from technicians.
  • Maintain workshop productivity and safety standards.
  • Ensure quality control on all carts leaving the workshop.
  • Excellent Customer Liaison
  • Handle complaints professionally and promptly, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Parts & Inventory Control
  • Order stock and parts from head office and approved suppliers.
  • Receive stock, verify accuracy against delivery notes/invoices, and book it into stock systems.
  • Monitor stock levels continuously and reorder in time to avoid shortages.
  • Manage ordering, booking out, and stock control of all parts.
  • Track parts usage against job cards and invoices.
  • Maintain accurate records in the stock management system.
  • Conduct regular stock takes and reconciliation.
  • Act as the main contact for customers regarding workshop and service-related queries.
  • Provide updates on job progress, timelines, and costs.
Finance & Administration
  • Ensure all service and repair jobs are properly costed, invoiced, and paid before refurbishment or release of carts.
  • Assist in preparing workshop budgets and controlling operating expenses.
  • Maintain accurate workshop records for reporting and auditing purposes.
  • Managing the entire warrantee processes.
Supplier & Stakeholder Relations
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers (e.g., golf cart covers, spray painting, upholstery, etc).
  • Source competitive quotations and negotiate pricing where needed.
  • Ensure suppliers meet quality and delivery standards.
Team Leadership
  • Ensure technicians are equipped with sufficient work clothing, tools, and resources to perform their duties effectively.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop workshop staff and technicians.
  • Monitor performance and provide feedback/coaching.
Fleet Management
  • Ensure company vehicles are regularly serviced, repaired, and maintained in roadworthy condition.
  • Manage renewal of vehicle licences and roadworthy certifications.
  • Track and pay traffic fines promptly.
  • Maintain accurate fleet records, including service histories, insurance, and operating costs.
  • Monitor fuel usage and efficiency where applicable.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Experience:
  • 5 years' experience in workshop management or a similar role.
  • Mechanical/technical background (automotive, golf carts, or related).
  • Strong parts management and inventory control experience.
  • Exposure to customer service.
  • Exposure to supplier negotiations.
Minimum Qualification:
  • Grade 12, NQF Level 4 or equivalent
Preferred Qualification:
  • Trade and occupational qualification
Minimum Requirement:
  • Valid unendorsed driver's license
  • Computer literacy with high level of accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of Basic Conditions of Employment (BCEA).
  • Technical competence across diverse brands - an advantage.
