All public South African universities have nationally approved enrolment mandates that guide enrolment across different fields and levels of study and achieving its enrolment mandate is a key strategic focus area for UWC.

A dynamic and inspiring individual is sought to help plan, initiate and implement coordinated student recruitment and marketing strategies that support the recruitment of students in accordance with the University's student enrolment goals and targets.

Reporting to the Director: Student Enrolment Management Unit, the successful applicant will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Provide support to the Director with regard to the compilation and evaluation of student recruitment plans and strategies.
  • Manage and monitor the implementation of selected recruitment strategies and provide formal monitoring and review reports.
  • Manage and coordinate promotional and recruitment activities for out-bound school visits, career exhibitions and other recruitment and career activities as per the recruitment plan.
  • Advise on programmes on offer and highlight admission requirements during career activities.
  • Coordinate the recruitment of eligible candidates for the Mastercard Foundation Scholar Program in support of the Program's broad objectives.
  • Provide support with the selection, induction and general coordination of successful Mastercard Foundation scholars.
  • Enquiry management, including the referral of and enhancing of inquiry systems in conjunction with the Student Recruitment Administrator.
  • Network with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to an ethos of collaboration, teamwork and excellence in the Unit
Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements: (Qualification and Experience)
  • The successful candidate should have a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
Required competencies: (skills, knowledge and behavioural attributes):
  • Proficiency with digital media is a strong requirement
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and with the ability to take initiative
  • Flexibility to adapt and work in a range of varying environments and with different people,tasks and responsibilities
  • The ability to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
