The role entails full accountability of the total defended and complex legal portfolios, to oversee and optimally, effectively and efficiently manage the Specialised Legal Defended Portfolio all within the agreed timelines and in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (xe2x80x9cSLAxe2x80x9d). The role requires analysis of the legal correspondence and attorney reports received with the objective to interpret and understand the content. The role further requires management of external attorney relationships and influencing attorney behaviour. The role performs across product, Home Loans, VAF, Business Lending, Retails Lending, Card Lending, Diners Club and Access Loans. The role has 1-3 direct reports.

Qualifications

• Completed Matric
• Legal Degree & Admitted Attorney
• Risk Management Diploma

• 3 - 4 years experience in civil litigation process including defended legal procedures. Consumer Protection Act, National Credit Act ,Magistrates and High court rules, Prescription Act
• 1 - 2 years Manage, identify and mitigate complex legal risks
• 1 - 2 years experience in a banking environment including Credit product knowledge
