REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT - FACILITIES & MAINTENANCE POST - MANAGER: SOFT SERVICES REFERENCE NUMBER - 20001997 Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors Degree (NQF 7) in Facilities/Operations Management, Environmental Management, or equivalent.
5 years experience in facilities management or soft services management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Valid Drivers License (essential for campus mobility).
Key responsibilities:
Develops and implements soft services management plans aligned with DUT Strategy 2030.
Oversees cleaning, waste, pest control, hygiene, and auxiliary services.
Manages outsourced service contracts for cleaning, hygiene, and waste management.
Conducts regular performance reviews and site inspections.
Ensures soft services operations comply with the OHS Act, environmental regulations, and DUT safety policies
Coordinates inspections and audits. Implements corrective actions for non-compliance.
Promotes safe working practices among staff and service providers.
Provides leadership to soft services supervisors and staff.
Allocates resources and shifts to ensure campus coverage.
Implements performance management, training, and skills development.
Promotes transformation, equity, and inclusivity in staffing.
Prepares budgets for cleaning, waste, and auxiliary services.
Monitors expenditure against approved allocations. Identifies cost-saving opportunities through efficient resource use.
Promotes environmentally friendly cleaning and waste practices
Oversees recycling, water-saving, and energy-conscious cleaning initiatives.
Implements pest management and landscaping practices that protect biodiversity.
Engages with students, staff, and faculties on facilities service concerns.
Prepares and submits reports/statistics of work undertaken reports to various structures as required, in accordance with the reporting schedule.
