-As the Production Manager, you would hold a legal 3.1a appointment in terms of the Mines Health & Safety Act (MHSA) and is therefore overall responsible to all company stakeholders to ensure a safe and profitable management of the Production Area with a 3-5 years' timeframe accountability.
Oversee consistent application of Safety & Health principles in all discipline interactions and take personal responsibility for safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
Develop discipline-specific plans / systems to reduce exposure to risks.
Design and approve operational risk management systems to assess critical risks and monitor effectiveness of critical controls.
Directing and support Mine Performance in alignment with Business Strategies and goals
Facilitating Mine decisions
Identifying improvement opportunities
Managing ownership of Mine initiatives
Representing the Mine as well as managing risks and threats to Mine proactively
Providing support for improved performance
Providing support with the development and acceptance of business plans and strategies
This role is in the Mining Department at a Band 5 level reporting to the General Manager
Qualifications
-Professional qualifications in Mining (degree or national diploma)
Mine Manager Certificate of competency
Blasting Certificate
Exposure to 3.1a legal appointment
Financial qualification or post graduate degree will be advantageous
