To manage production and welding within Nuclear Manufacturing.
Key Performance Areas:
Implement and run an affective production and capacity schedule for the shop floor.
Supply reliable and credible input to the quotations and procurement planning process.
Manage the logistics, transport and rigging for subcontracted work and the collection of materials and items.
Manage equipment maintenance, suitability and replacement of ageing equipment.
Control schedules, cost and quality in the production environment.
Work with managers to implement AM policies and goals.
Manage the safety function on the shop floor.
Manage production staff to meet schedules and quality. This includes all machining, boilermaker and welding work.
Manage resources that are required.
Review and adjust the schedule where needed.
Determine and implement improvements to the production process
Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems
Monitor quality standards of product
Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement
Prepare and submit Monthly reports to the General Manager: Advanced Manufacturing.
Participant in the selection and appointment of temporary staff
Ensure that the working environment contributes to improving staff morale and increasing productivity
Coach and mentor staff on an ongoing basis
Communicate with staff as required
Identify and implement training requirements
Ensure that all production staff are trained, skilled and that their expertise is optimally applied
Implement and maintain Prowrite welding software program and annual licence renewal
Participate in the required Safety and Quality audits
Ensure that projects meet the schedule, cost and quality as agree and required by the client.
Take the responsibility as Welding Technician in the ASME environment
Manage WPS, PQR and WPQ procedures and weld maps.
Review and approve various procedures and work instructions.
Implement the quality procedures as approved within AM to comply with ASME III, ASME VIII, ISO 9001, ISO 3834 and ISO 18001 standards.
Implement stores and controls for a system that strictly controls inward goods and materials as well as issue and receipt to the shop floor.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
KEY KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Knowledge of engineering production/project work
A result-driven approach to work
Have experience in ASME III Nuclear (N Stamp)
Have experience in ASME II,V,VIII and IX
The ability to work under pressure and multitask.
Leadership skills and the ability to motivate others to meet deadlines.
Good knowledge of Welding Procedures ASME IX, EN and AM QMS.
Knowledge of Mechanical Drawings
Knowledge of design, drawing and data sheet, required with regards to specifications, design codes, standards and statutory requirement
Knowledge of how WPS,PQR and WPQR work
Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Knowledge in tenders, costing, pricing and contracts
Knowledge, Experience and Skills in Estimation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education
:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical/ Metallurgy/ industrial) and ASME Codes of Construction and the National Board Inspection Code Diploma; with
a minimum of 5 years' experience in a workshop boiler making, welding and developing in a manufacturing environment, of which at least 5 years at a supervisory level.
OR
Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/ Metallurgy/ Industrial) and ASME Codes of Construction and the National Board Inspection Code Diploma; with
+ A minimum of 7 years' experience in a workshop boiler making, welding and developing in a manufacturing environment, of which at least 5 years at a supervisory level
Experience:
Plus experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques.
Plus experience of process improvement techniques.
