To lead, develop, maintain and direct the Legal Metrology-Type Approval office (function), including planning, executing,
monitoring, evaluating and reporting on operational requirements.
KPA/ Key outputs:
Lead and Direct the Division including Business Planning, Strategy Development and Improvements.
Lead and Manage the Division.
Establish and Maintain Strategic Partnerships with Government Departments, Industry and Foreign Missions.
Oversee the monitoring of compliance of Products Regulated to the Relevant Legislation.
Facilitate the Development and Amendments of Technical Regulations in the Accountable Field.
Lead and Direct the Harmonisation of Technical Regulations and Participate in National, Regional and International Forums.
Oversee and Take Accountability for the Accreditation of Inspections, Approvals, and Assessment Functions for the Accountable Field.

Requirements/ Experience:
National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in
Electrical, Mechanical Engineering
(speciliasing in legal, health, safety,
environmental monitoring
instrumentation or related scientific
qualifications) 8 years' experience in the Legal
Metrology field
Knowledge and Skills:
In-depth knowledge of:
Legal Metrology (LM) Act,
LM Regulations and National Gambling Act.
Technical regulations relating to area of responsibility.
Standards and Compulsory Specifications in area of responsibility.
National, regional and international treaties, trade protocols and mutual acceptance arrangements.
Quality management systems, corporate governance policies and procedures.
Business strategy, planning and reporting process.
