I.INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF ACCOUNTANTS (IFAC)
During 2024, IFAC shifted its strategic focus to maximizing member value and experience. The Member Value Proposition (MVP) was created and is currently being embedded into all of IFACs activities:

IFAC has traditionally delivered member services from a centralized operating model based in New York. As part of the transformation to a new target operating model IFAC will move to a global multi-location model which will greatly enhance our ability to deliver value to member organizations around the world.II.POSITION SUMMARY
This is a newly created and exciting role, reporting to the Global Member Experience Lead. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead, influence, and serve the accountancy profession across Africa. The successful candidate will be based in Africa (xe2x80x98boots on the ground) and will ideally be fluent in some African languages as well as English. Currently there are 35 IFAC members in Africa.
The Manager, MEE Africa, will be responsible for customizing, delivering and maximizing the MVP in Africa for each member organization. The role includes developing strong relationships and collaborating with members and key stakeholders such as Regulatory Bodies, Universities, Supreme Audit Institutions, Business Associations and Stock Exchanges. In addition, the role involves working closely and in collaboration with the Pan African Federation of Accountants and other Regional Bodies such as the Federation Internationale des Experts-Comptables Francophone. The position is also responsible for identifying and managing the regional global volunteer pipeline for IFAC and ensuring proactive communication with members across the region. The ideal candidate will already have strong relationships and an established network within the African Accounting Profession. All regional activities will need to be coordinated with the global MEE team to ensure service level consistency around the globe.III.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities will include:Member Engagement and Experience
  • Identify and action ways to customize, deliver and maximize the MVP for each member organization in order to continuously strengthen and improve the member experience across Africa
  • Utilize data and insights to understand, prioritize, and respond to varying member and jurisdictional needs
  • Communicate proactively with members across the region to foster strong, collaborative relationships that support their needs and objectives
  • Provide advisory and advocacy support on legislative and regulatory matters to members
  • Work closely with the IFAC African Network Partners to align strategic activities and ensure delivery of shared objectives
  • Coordinate closely with the global MEE team to ensure service level consistency around the globe
  • Act as a role model for the EVP in being a champion of integrity and professional quality in own role
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Professional Accountancy Organizations (PAOs) and other key stakeholders
  • Work closely and in collaboration with the Pan African Federation of Accountants and other Regional Bodies such as the Federation Internationale des Experts-Comptables Francophone
  • Connect, engage and collaborate, with a wide range of key stakeholders, such as National Governments, Financial Regulators, Tax Authorities, Independent Audit Oversight Authorities, Central Banks, Stock Exchanges, Corporate Governance Institutes, Regulatory Bodies, Universities, Supreme Audit Institutions, Business Associations and Stock Exchanges
  • Identify and manage potential recruits from across the region to the global volunteer pipeline for IFAC
Advisor to IFAC Leadership
  • Work closely with IFAC leadership, including the Chief Executive Officer to proactively provide strategic advice and feedback from the region and ensure alignment of regional activities with IFAC strategy
Event Coordination and Representation
  • Facilitate knowledge-sharing and IFAC member advocacy activities between PAOs, Decision-Makers, Regulators, and Government Bodies at national and regional levels
  • Plan and execute regional member events, forums, and workshops, ensuring they align with the MVP
  • Represent IFAC at key stakeholder meetings, forums, and industry events to increase visibility, build a network and relationships, and enhance influence
  • Will include travel within Africa and abroad
IV.QUALIFICATIONS
The Manager, Member Engagement and Experience will ideally have:
  • Significant experience in member engagement, stakeholder engagement, or a similar role, preferably within the accountancy profession
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, together with strong active listening skills
  • Fluency in some African languages as well as English
  • Strong networking and relationship building skills
  • An established network of relationships within the African Accounting Profession
  • A proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Deep understanding of the African regions unique cultural, economic, academic, and regulatory landscape
  • Experience in developing and strengthening capacity building, ideally in Africa
  • Knowledge of the trends and issues affecting the accountancy profession in Africa coupled with the ability to drive change as needed
  • Experience collecting and analyzing data, interpreting results to track trends, measure impact, and generate insights to make improvements
  • Practical experience with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is essential
