Umtiza, a division of SSK's Commercial Services' Retail division, is a distributor of agricultural products with outlets in the Eastern Cape. Umtiza currently has the following career opportunity at its Distribution Centre in Berlin.




To ensure the operational success of this division, the successful candidate will be responsible for the effective management of the day-to-day logistical operations and responsibilities of the Distribution Centre. These will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Responsibilities:

The management of the operational and logistical activities of the Distribution Centre, including receiving, storage, packing, and timely delivery of stock to the Umtiza outlets. The implementation and maintenance of exceptional service delivery. Inventory management (including the management of inventory levels, floor and shelf space, regular inventory counts, the monitoring and control of inventory shortages, and stock with expiration dates). Cost and Budget management. The management and motivation of employees, the promotion of a collaborative and positive work environment, and the development of employee skills. Ensure that shelf care, cleanliness, and general housekeeping are always up to standard. Asset management (including the maintenance of vehicles and other assets). Compliance with all relevant statutory obligations, including obligations related to occupational health and safety. The identification of new processes/work procedures and their implementation to optimize the operational success of the distribution center.

Requirements

Possess an appropriate qualification and/or proof of competence At least five years of experience in a distribution or logistics environment Good computer skills, the ability to work under pressure, and solve problems quickly Strong leadership, good planning, interpersonal, and communication skills A valid Code EB (Code 08) driver's license is a requirement
