Our client who operates in the retail and logistics space, is seeking to employ a experienced Management Accountant / Accountant, based in Port Elizabeth.

This person will be 2IC to the financial manager.

Salary: R30k to R35k CTC

Requirements:

• More than 3 years of general accounting experience, either in a public accounting firm or in a private corporate environment.
• Retail and FMCG experience desired not mandatory.
• Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in accounting, finance, math, business administration, or a related field preferred.
• Staff management experience.
• Great interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter.
• Commercial experience ideal.
• Highly detail-oriented and organized.
• Ability to meet constant stream of deadlines.
• Familiarity with accounting software and programs.

Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:

• Fixed Asset Management.
• Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
• Salary Control Account Reconciliations.
• Intercompany Loan balancing.
• Interbranch Transfers balancing.
• Management Account preparation and review of smaller entity accounts before submission for final review by FM.
• Ensure the accuracy of accounts payable reports, maintain accurate back-up documents, and guarantees that all unpaid invoices are processed for an organization within the agreed terms.
• Analyse complex financial reports and records.
• Review journal entries of junior accountants to ensure accuracy.
• Train and mentor junior staff.
• Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reports.
• Assist FM with forecasting reports.
