Job Summary Afrikaans/English BSc/B Tech/N6 Mech/Electromech Eng; Millwright; GCC(Mech./Factories)/GMR 2.1 Rep ; 3-5 years mechanical/workshop exp in food/meat processing plant/abattoir/ensuring CI/safe/ efficient operation of mechanical systems/equipment critical to meat processing/ handling. Must have strong understanding of mechanical systems/ hydraulics/pneumatics/ pumps/motors/gearboxes/able to read/interpret technical drawings/manuals/schematics/strong problem solving/communication skills/able to work as part of a team/independently/under pressure in fast-paced environment. Troubleshoot/maintain/repair mechanical/ hydraulic systems/conveyors/chilling units/pneumatic tools/saws/meat/abattoir machinery. Respond rapidly to equipment breakdowns/ensure minimal disruption to operations. Ensure compliance with local/international food processing standards/health/safety laws/environmental regulations. Oversee installation/commissioning new equipment/coordinate vendors. Implement preventive/corrective maint schedules/reduce downtime/extend equipment life. Maintain accurate maint logs/ tech docs/equipment history. Provide techl support/training to operational/ maint staff. Collaborate with Production/QA/Health & Safety teams/ensure machinery operates in compliance with hygiene/safety/regulatory standards.Design/modify mechanical components/equipment layouts/improve production efficiency/safety. Report to CEO/COO East Rand G1004.
