Key Purpose:
The technician is responsible for general repairs and maintenance of all fittings and fixtures including all equipment at head Office and sales branches where needed.
1. As our Repairs and Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
General Repairs & Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on all fittings, fixtures, and equipment. This includes electrical work (from replacing light bulbs to maintaining circuit breaker panels), plumbing, ventilation, refrigeration, and heating systems.
System Diagnostics: Conduct diagnostics and repairs on various building systems to ensure optimal functionality.
Safety & Security: Regularly check fire and security alarm systems and coordinate necessary repairs to maintain a safe and secure environment.
Manual & Upkeep Tasks: Handle a variety of manual repairs, such as fixing locks, replacing windows, and performing general upkeep like painting and carpentry.
Pest Control Coordination: Organize and oversee scheduled pest control activities to ensure a clean and sanitary environment.
Tool Proficiency: Professionally use a wide range of tools, including power tools, hand tools, and material handling equipment.
2. Your work will be guided by a deep commitment to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards. You'll be responsible for:
Hazard Identification: Proactively identify potential hazards and risks before and during any task.
Following Protocols: Strictly adhere to all established safe work procedures and protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Using PPE: Correctly wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Reporting: Promptly report all incidents, injuries, and near-misses.
Maintaining a Clean Space: Keep your work area clean and organized to prevent accidents.
Emergency Preparedness: Understand and be prepared to execute emergency procedures, including the use of fire extinguishers and first-aid kits.
3. Additional but not limited Responsibilities
Standby & Call Outs: Be a first-line responder for after-hours and emergency callouts. This role may also require weekend work and occasional travel to our branches.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum Education Qualification
Matric
Preferred: General Maintenance, Electrical, Plumbing.
Minimum Experience:
A minimum of 1-2 years of hands-on experience in a maintenance or related role is a common requirement.
A proven ability to handle a variety of repairs and tasks across different systems (basic electrical, plumbing, etc.).
