Introduction

Abagold has a vacancy for a Maintenance Technician in our Factory.

The Maintenance Technician will fabricate and assemble structural components of various mechanical systems and maintain equipment within our processing facility.

Duties & Responsibilities

Be able to keep accurate records of all maintenance work done. Basic welding skills and proficiency in the use of hand and power tools to use welding equipment and power tools to manufacture structural components or replace damaged or defective structural components as needed. Must be able to collaborate with technical team members on large scale projects. They must have ample knowledge of pumps and conveyor systems to maintain pumps, conveyors, and other mechanical equipment. Previous experience with seamers The ability to interpret drawings for mechanical systems as well as be able to construct and assemble mechanical systems and install new mechanical equipment. The ability to ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support decision-making. Should be able to create suitable maintenance schedules and perform system maintenance accordingly. Be familiar with and adhere to all work-site safety rules and regulations. Must be willing to work outside in all-weather if required. Be able to manage equipment availability and Order spares as required.

Desired Experience & QualificationSkills and Requirements:

Grade 12/Matric Any electrical experience will be advantageous. Driver's license with own transport. Must be willing to perform standby duty and work overtime and might be required at short notice.
