Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:




To effectively manage and control the Control Systems ensuring that these are always functional thus facilitating effective delivery and communication within Foskor.

VTS Profile:




? Level Orange - Green and Valid Driver Licence

Experience:



5 Years instrumentation experience in a Mining environment at middle management level

? 10 Years instrumentation experience in a Mining environment at middle management level

HEADLINE KEY RESULT AREAS:



Management of Operations and Strategy

:

Identify process automation and client needs. Determine viability of such needs. Put together a project plan, adhering to sound project management principles. Motivate project. Follow tendering process. Identify competent suppliers. Once approved, implement and monitor. Control the cold and hot commissioning of automated processes/ networks according to project schedule

Compliance to SHEQ Standards

:

Ensure that staff are familiar with SHEQ procedures. Conduct monthly audits to ensure compliance. Ensure corrective action where deviations occur. Hold monthly awareness sessions on SHEQ matters. Interpret legal requirements in area and enforce its application in accordance with safety standards.

Leading and Management of Human Resources

:

Determine staffing needs. Inform HR to fill vacant positions. Participate in the selection process. Decide on competent candidate. Ensure that new incumbent is oriented to the organisation. Ensure that subordinates have job profiles and therefore know what is expected from them. Ensure that performance discussions are done. Feedback on performance given. That development gaps are noted, and recommendations made or relevant training.

Record Management of and Reporting

:

Compile monthly reports on all matters pertaining to relevant section's operational matters. Financial variance report on own budget. Plan and coordinate the leave roster *

Budgeting and Management of Financial Resources

:

Identify budgetary requirements for own area. Compile and submit budget for approval. Use cost reduction approaches when purchasing equipment. Ensure you operate within budget. Report monthly on variances with justifications
