PURPOSE OF THE JOB To ensure the Maintenance Dept & team delivers internal customer expectations for completion of servicing, repairing and trouble- shooting activities on machinery and equipment. Management of employees to achieve optimum quality and productivity in Engineering.

Key Accountabilities

• Manage the Maintenance /Engineering facility ensuring it is suitably equipped and maintained to match the current and future needs of the business in line with Manufacturing demands.
• Ensure on time repairs and replacements are met according to plant/ factory demand.
• To manage and develop the team in the Maintenance, to continuously improve product performance and demand.
• The management of on-going Maintence operations in designated areas in the Plants where required according to regulatory, statutory and quality processes, policies and procedures.
• Identify future needs, allocate and schedule resources (People & equipment) to ensure the Mechanical and Electrical area operates at optimum level to meet the factory demand and customer fulfillment requirements.
• Provide costing estimates information, control costs within agreed parameters.
• Implement new procedures that provide operating efficiencies within Good Manufacturing principles.
• Provide leadership to Engineering employees.
• Establish ongoing training requirements and implement programme to develop staff per the training needs.
• Constantly promote and maintain awareness and compliance of H&S in accordance with best practice and legal requirements.

Qualifications/Experience:

Diploma in Management coupled with a Trade as Fitter and Turner /Electrician.

Minimum 5- 10 years Maintenance experience in the metals manufacturing industry in a similar role.

ISO working knowledge

Experience with automation and injection mould tool design and repair.

Strong knowledge of raw materials and moulding equipment

Strong computer skills to document and communicate processes that can be easily followed by internal team members

Design: Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, bluepints, drawings and models

Proven technical and communication skills with demonstrated experience in working in a team environment working to solve problems

Administration and Management:

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

Able to work in a fast paced environment with interruptions, using proven project management skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Skills:

• Strong problem solving skills & "design for manufacture" skills
• Strong ability to deal with and efficient in processing paperwork
