Job Description

An established meat production and retail business is seeking a reliable and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee all installations, maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of our production facility and retail butcher stores.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all maintenance activities, shifts, and technical issues are managed and resolved efficiently. This position requires solid technical knowledge and leadership skills to maintain operations and coordinate maintenance teams effectively.
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement maintenance procedures to ensure efficient operations.
• Conduct inspections and manage checklists to identify and resolve issues promptly.
• Build strong working relationships with maintenance technicians and management teams.
• Strategically plan and oversee all repair and installation activities.
• Allocate workloads and supervise maintenance staff.
• Monitor and manage equipment inventory, placing orders when necessary.
• Control maintenance budgets and monitor expenses.
• Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
• Maintain preventative maintenance schedules, job cards, logs, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety policies.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or in a similar supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding, and technical systems.
• Knowledge of factory and retail equipment (meat processing experience advantageous).
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Strong administrative and computer literacy skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage high-pressure situations effectively.
• Own transport and valid drivers license.
• Availability for after-hours call-outs and duties.
