To ensure that the DSW fleet is maintained to a high standard where vehicles readily pass Road Traffic Act Inspections.
Key Responsibility Areas
Inspect vehicles coming back into service after service/repair and advises Fleet Manager on vehicles that have not been satisfactorily repaired.
Travel to depots to inspect conditions of vehicles and to report any defects that need attention.
Ensures that unroadworthy and dangerous vehicles in terms of their use are immediately withdrawn.
Sets up and maintains a schedule for servicing of all vehicles and a vehicle availability schedule.
Liaises with Workshop staff regarding servicing and repairs.
Represents DSW at meetings.
Liaises with agents and service providers to resolve problems.
Liaises with Area Cleansing Officers and Drivers to ensure vehicles are being kept in good condition.

Essential Requirements
Trade tested Artisan (Mechanical).
Valid motor vehicle driving license (Code EC).
Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
3 years relevant post apprenticeship experience.
