Job Summary Our Client, a National blue-chip Group Leader in the FMCG industry, is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a suitably qualified Maintenance Foreman (FLM) BACKEND to report directly into the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer based at their Mill in KZN (R450K - R517K pa). KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENT: Minimum National Trade Test or Diploma in Mechanical 5+ years experience in a Sugar Mill maintenance environment including supervisory roles. Strong leadership skills Experience in Back End maintenance will be beneficial. Supervisory experience will be beneficial. Must be computer literate. Able to work methodically and systematically in a Sugar Mill environment. Familiarity with systems like (Maximo, Tranquillity, Kronos etc.) would be an advantage. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Prepare the month-end timetable that is in line with the Groups timelines. Supervise maintenance employees in the Mechanical discipline to achieve maximum plant availability and equipment capacity (Maintenance Excellence) Drive implementation of the "Company Way of Maintenance" to ensure the Mill is the best sugar producer. Ensure implementation of preventative / reactive maintenance initiatives and plans to reduce costs and downtime. Identify L&D needs within the team and manage training through business partnership . Optimize maintenance performance, by holding team accountable to achieve the highest standards of efficiencies, quality and agreed/required standards of maintenance. Promote a culture of consistently assessing risks and drive continuous improvement throughout operations. Adhere to and promote SHERQ & Food Safety standards. Plan and supervise the daily work and performance of each employee on assigned shift, organize schedules, and assign work activity to achieve team and company objectives safely. Together with the teams, achieve shift, daily, weekly, monthly, and off-crop shutdown targets ensuring that tasks are prioritised and planned in a logical, systematic and cost-effective way to optimise profitability. Develop budget for discipline with Maintenance Head, finance business partner, and optimization engineer. Manage costs and budgets effectively. Monitor performance and support and advise teams in solving problems and/or taking corrective action. Monitor standards for setting, operating, and maintaining equipment and ensure instructions are adhered to. Manage policy adherence to practices amongst maintenance teams. Manage work quality to reduce rework and increase plant reliability. Ensure equipment maintenance and reliability for respective area and ensure maintenance plans are aligned. Ensure continuous improvement by implementing functional best practices and conducting physical inspections. Work with Optimization and Production team to solve problems and promote cross functional engagement & teamwork. Ensure Plant, Equipment and BOM information and WOs are captured accurately within Maximo Provide teams with necessary tools and equipment to perform work effectively. Ensure technical and maintenance reporting (From Maximo) is compliant with company policy and procedures. Manage and maintain key engineering activities guided by the Group technical risk guidelines. Monitor performance and take corrective action where required. Identify and monitor KPIs to track performance and flag any issues.
