Purpose of Job
To support with the maintenance of mechanical / electro-mechanical / electro-mechanical systems and equipment.
To operate mechanical / electro-mechanical devices and systems, and accurately and efficiently collect field data to ensure optimum productivity.
Key Accountabilities
Operational, Financial and Technical Results: o Assist Artisans on all types of pumps, fans and blowers. o Housekeeping o Conduct daily lubrication inspections and topping up oil and greasing of pump / blower / fan bearing housing.
Leadership and Growth Results: o To support Sasol values and goals o Share knowledge with colleagues. o Live safety
Management Results: o Comply to safety standards / procedures o Identify all unsafe conditions and bring under the attention of management o Perform basic job execution planning w.r.t. tools, consumables
Customer and Relationship Results: o Feedback to customer (plant maintenance / production). o Communicate with customer concerning machine condition, defects as/when required.
Innovation and Improvement Results: o Suggest and implement innovative ideas to make work faster, simpler, better.
Formal Education

• Grade 12 with Maths and Science or NQF2 (MUST)
• Valid Code 8 or Code B drivers licence (MUST)

Work Experience

• 2-3 Years' experience in a maintenance environment.
• Familiar with rotating equipment, eg pumps, bearings etc
• Basic hand tools knowledge
• Basic knowledge on oils and grease
• Basic knowledge on gaskets and gasket cutting
• Must be able to do standby and work overtime
