We are seeking an experienced and proactive
Maintenance Assistant
to join our dynamic team at a large city hotel in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be reliable, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven, with strong technical skills and a willingness to support a wide range of maintenance functions. This role involves shift work (early and late shifts), including weekdays, weekends, and public holidays as per the team roster.Minimum Requirements
Previous experience in a maintenance role, preferably within the hospitality industry. Proficiency in plumbing, electrical, and general repair work. Knowledge of carpentry, painting, and tiling. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Reliable, honest, and trustworthy with a strong work ethic. Ability to work well within a team environment. Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct
pre-arrival room checks
to ensure readiness and guest satisfaction. Performgeneral plumbing and electrical work
as required. Carry outpainting, tiling, and skimming tasks
to maintain property standards. Handlerepairs and servicing of fan coil units
. Completecarpentry and basic woodwork repairs and maintenance
. Support the team in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment across the property. * Follow standard operating procedures and comply with health and safety requirements.
