Job Description

JOB PURPOSE:

To manufacture hydraulic cylinder parts like barrels, rods, glands, and pistons on a manual lathe and milling machine using the correct cutting tools with the appropriate tolerances according to the manufacturing drawings supplied. Strip, assess, assemble, and test repair and new cylinders to specifications as per work instructions.

Job objectives/Principal accountabilities:

Manufacture various hydraulic cylinder components, manifold blocks and general hydraulic components to industry standard tolerances and finishes. To make sure that general maintenance on the machine is carried out. To ensure all work is performed in a safe and professional manner.

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 Qualified Machinist /Fitter & Turner Minimum 2 years full time hydraulic machining experience on manual lathes and milling machines. Ability to work off sample and as per drawing. Industry knowledge Professional use of measuring equipment Have reliable transport and be able to work overtime when required. Take instructions well and be a team player.
