To execute all activities relating to the production and processing of goods and to ensure maximization of all resources. Accurate execution of job orders as set out by the Production Planner. Ensure that all efficiency standards are met and maintained.ResponsibilitiesEfficient workflow planning to meet production targets and deadlinesPreparation and running equipment under his or her control. Take full responsibility of the whole production line including managing employees reporting into this role.Fault findingPerform regular operator maintenance on equipmentQuality monitoringOptimal utilization of resources to ensure minimum waste, maximum productivity and work efficiencyWhen required, coordinate, monitor and be hands on with other production lines.Adherence to all Health and Safety legislative requirements and meeting the required standardsHousekeeping in and around the Press DepartmentSkills and CompetenciesGood planning and time management skillsGood communication and inter-personal skillsProblem solving and well-developed decision-making abilitiesKnowledge of bag making process, packing and flexographic printing processes will be advantageousGood computer literacy (MS Office)The ability to multixe2x80x93task and to work independently under pressureMust be self-driven and self-motivated together with a passion for the paper bag manufacturing or other packaging production environments.Triumph machine experience will be advantageousThe position requires shift work, working over weekends and public holidays as well as occasional overtime when need be.Educational and experience requirements:Grade 12 National CertificateA recognised and relevant trade certificate (Flexographic Machine Minder, Packaging trade certificate OR a technical trade certificate)At least 3 yearsxe2x80x99 industry related experience is essentialAt least 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience/exposure in a machine minder capacity or similar position will be advantageousOther InformationThe company can expire jobs at any time at their own discretion.VKB Group and/or its subsidiary companies will use any personal data collected through the job opportunities section of this website for recruitment purposes only and, should your application be successful, for purposes connected with your employment.VKB Group is an equal opportunity employer.
