SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Summary
Performs a variety of tasks related to stock/warehouse management. Responsible for maintaining the supply and demand of inventory, and ensuring that there are adequate stocks available. Ensure stock purchasing, delivery and shipping confirmations, and manage inventory balances.
Stock Management/Processes
Maintains and orders local stock
Manages the shipment process with UPS
Investigates and amends stock variances
Compiles implant and instrument forecast
Checks and identifies stock orders from Germany and locally
Monitor stock levels
Conduct and oversee stock counts
Manages interbranch transfers
Sign-off sets
Conducts warehouse transfers of consignment stock to hospitals
Captures return to supplier on expired stock and loan sets going back to Germany
Conducts fault finding and fault resolution on Pastel and SMS
Reports any stock and equipment issues to higher management.
Assists in rectifying and correcting stock and equipment issues before they cause undue loss or breakdown of process.
Identifies stock that needs to be counted, initiate and completes stock counts.
Fleet Management
Handles vehicle repair authorization to manage costs effectively.
Performs vehicle and logbook checks.
Plan routes to save time and reduce petrol consumption.
Staff Management
Lead and supervise Logistics team day-to-day activities
Assist in creating work schedules (rosters) to maximize output
Be objective when dealing with staff issues
Assist with staff disciplinary and attend to disciplinary procedures
Provide training for staff where necessary, or identify training needs
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level qualification.
At least 2-3 years supervisory experience, or proof of consistent career advancement to qualify for advancement to a supervisor
Must be computer literate (MS Office, TimeTree and Pastel)
Good knowledge of warehousing systems
Experience with administration.
Must be able to travel for overnight stay.
Driver's license and own transport essential
